Sound Quality of TIDAL and QOBUZ vs rips vs CD replay?

I will venture out onto that limb! I have Tidal. In Hi Fi mode, it’s not as good as CD (Oppo 205,) but in MQA mode, slightly better than CD. SACD outperforms all Tidal modes.

Do you think you have to “Read between the lines” when reading a review?

The Acoustical Systems Fidelis cartridge is "Oh, my God" good. (The Arche head shell is too damned big.) A tie for runner up... The final Oppo 205 is a timelessly great piece of gear, it can do anything...

How often do you listen to an album?

I am a greater than 90% of the time "album listener." Grew up that way, but may do it even more so now! Back in the day, I'd have to get up to flip an LP, so I might have only listened to half an album...
