Easy Way to Stream Tidal on Raspberry Pi

195 viewsStreaming

I just signed up for the 3 month Tidal trial for $1.99.  Currently use Volumio with plugin to stream Spotify.  Anything like that to stream Tidal where you can use Android phone as remote, with simple install and no extra hardware?

Hey Craig – I believe My Volumio now supports Tidal and Qobuz:

That is true. It’s part of their paid service from 7 Euro/ month.

I guess that’s no „easy“ way for TiDAL on a Pie :(. I believe that 10 € for Roon might be a better deal if you can build a server (MAC, PC, Nuc, some Nas), but myvolumio supports Qobuz too.

Undortunately no easy „connect API“ on a Pie like Spotify Connect I guess. Apart from gorgeous playlists, Spotify‘s connect solutions are the big deal imho.

I would love Spotify just to add a Flac sub (or buy Tidal and migrate).

I haven’t actually tried this, but before I purchased my Bluesound Node 2i I was considering a Ras Pi streamer.  Came across this article while researching.

I switched to a Chromecast Audio puck (I’m using the Ugreen ethernet adapter and ifi ipower) works like a charm.  Next I’ll try it with optical out to a DAC.
